Sales Account Executive – Charlottesville/Northern, Virginia
Our Company:
Advanced Network Systems delivers a wide range of professional IT services and network technology solutions (data/voice/video) to a growing base of customers in the SMB and local government markets. Established in 1996, our central Virginia-based company has grown steadily and is currently a a leading provider of business-to-business technology solutions in the region.

The Position:
This position is responsible for driving new business revenue in the northern and central Virginia regions by establishing new accounts and cultivating existing accounts across a variety of vertical markets. This position requires a results oriented and self-motivated individual who can successfully serve as both a “revenue generator” and a “relationship builder” with our clients/prospective clients.
THIS POSITION CAN HAVE A FLEXIBLE BASE OF OPERATION WITHIN THE SALES TERRITORY. Territory includes Albemarle County and all counties north within Virginia.
Position Responsibilities:
- Grow customer base within the territory.
- Meet and exceed territory sales and profitability goals.
- Discuss and identify customer’s IT needs and provide assistance with formulating IT solutions.
- Make telephone and field calls to present value proposition to existing and potential customers.
- Manage established accounts; build customer loyalty and provide excellent customer service.
- Prospect, forecast and close new opportunities.
- This position requires a varying combination of office work and travel to conduct customer meetings within the sales territory.
Position Requirements:
- College degree preferred.
- Knowledge of IT reseller/technology integration business.
- 2-5 years B2B sales experience. Outside /field experience preferred.
- A general understanding of network technology and solutions.
- Ability to sell value-added professional services around hardware/software products.
- Experience in cold calling, and prospecting new business.
- Excellent presentation skills
- Good organization and follow up skills.
- Ability to work in the office and in the field (travel) as required.
Sales Engineer – Charlottesville, Virginia
Our Sales Engineer plays a critical role in building and sustaining customer and partner relationships while driving the adoption of our solutions. The SE works closely with our Sales Team to maximize opportunities by identifying, developing, accelerating and closing deals from a technical perspective. The SE is a high-impact, visible role, responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through the development and promotion of product and service solutions as well as development of these solutions to meet future customer needs. The SE must be technically knowledgeable, customer-focused and team-oriented and have a documented path of previous contribution to a growing, successful business environment.
Candidates must possess required technical and sales consulting skills, client focused approach, commitment to detail, quality-oriented attitude and must be assertive as well as intrinsically driven to analyze and solve client requirements.
Key qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and credentials.
- A proven track record in a B2B sales environment.
- Min. 5 years experience in information technology infrastructure products and data networking.
- Prior experience selling, installing and architecting LAN/WAN network hardware, software and operating system solutions.
- Ability to present, demonstrate and explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical buyers.
- Knowledge of current and emerging technology in the following areas: Intel-based servers and desktops, storage and back-up solutions.
- Knowledge of IP-based network appliances and operations including LAN switching, WAN, Internet routers, firewalls and other security devices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft network operating systems and desktop systems, network operating system provisioning and maintenance.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a team to meet goals and business objectives.
- Ability to manage time and multiple projects in a dynamic sales environment.
- Detail and quality oriented.
- Ability to support the sales staff and customers in the office and in the field as required.
Network Engineer – Charlottesville, Virginia
Candidates must possess a confident and professional demeanor, client-focused approach, commitment to detail and a quality-oriented attitude.
Key Qualifications Include:
- Experience and proficiency in the support of information technology products within the area of data networking
- Industry certifications in Cisco or Microsoft products (in progress or completed)
- Some VoIP experience a plus
- Must be highly organized with excellent project management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the confidence to explain the basics of technology and product usage.

Inside Sales Rep – Charlottesville, Virginia

As part of our sales team, this key position provides a variety of support to customers and account executives that directly affect company revenue. Responsibilities include managing incoming sales calls, creating quotations, sales order processing, outbound opportunity/lead qualification, value selling and customer relations .
Top candidates will have a strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, excellent interpersonal communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and customer management databases. Prior experience in inside sales or customer service is highly desirable.
